Travel tips for Rajasthan
- Book heritage hotels or haveli stays for at least one night — it's a big part of the experience.
- Start sightseeing early; forts get crowded and hot by midday, even in winter.
- Hire a licensed guide at Amer Fort, Mehrangarh and the Udaipur City Palace to understand their history.
- Dress modestly for temples; at Ranakpur, leather items are not allowed inside, and tourist visiting hours are limited, so check timings.
- Rajasthani food can be rich and spicy — try dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi and ker sangri, and ask for less spice if needed.
